The Poppy Fields 'OLYMPICS' Ball
We just wanted to share the news about our ‘Poppy Fields Olympics Ball’which took place on Saturday 31st March.
The night was a sell out with 250 guests, lots of fantastic costumes & an amazing atmosphere!!!!
Our guests were treated to a champagne reception – thanks to John Vann & his company ‘Root – 2 – Lean’ & our friends who donated the bottles.
We played a new fundraising video this year, which led to the surprise entrance of Poppy!!! Poppy then gave a fantastic speech along with her amazing consultant Dr. Andrew Peet.
We then had a fab night with a show from ‘The Take That Experience’,disco from DJs Ryan Greensill & Tony Dudley, all compered by the witty Sean Casey-Poole. Thanks all of you
‘Team Poppyfields’ pulled out all the stops this year, the raffle & auction prizes were phenomenal!!!!!!!
Our previous best ever total raised was £7000, we set ourselves a target of£10,000 this year, as it will be our last ball before we take our break from fundraising...
Well, we smashed that!!!!! We raised over £14,000...WOW!!!!!
We are so grateful to everyone who has supported us & made this possible –there are too many of you to name so just accept this huge...THANK YOU!!!!!!!!
‘Poppy Fields’ will continue now in the safe hands of our wonderful team, while Brian & I take a break to spend quality time with our girls & to get Poppy through her surgery on 23rd April. So please continue to support our appeal – the next events are Steve Darlaston & Derek Bolton’s London Marathon on 22nd April, Mich’s Zumbathon on 26th May at Landau Forte Amington & Steve’s Iron Man on 1st July. We will keep you up to date with Poppy’s progress – we ask for more prayers & positive thoughts than ever as she faces another huge hurdle –thanks everyone.
Brian never gets a chance to speak as I always write the emails, but I said I would share his Facebook status from the other day...
