Just a quick one to let you know Poppy has had 7 days of Radiotherapy so far - and is still symptom free. We are expecting the symptoms to kick in next week, but are relieved that she is so well so far. She has amazed us by just getting on with it all, with a huge grin on her face, as always!!
Today, Poppy had her first appointment with her consultant, Dr. Dan Ford. Poppy was 'hyper' after her radiotherapy, and burst into his room!!! She then got the giggles & couldn't stop!!! Dr. Dan found her very funny!!! However, he was a little concerned when she told him that she can make her chin dance to the music she listens to when she wears her mask. We knew she was dancing with her feet, we can see that on the video screens, but didn't realise she danced with her chin too!!! Dr. Dan made her promise to keep still (the radiotherapy is measured in millimetres & is very precise!), Poppy smiled & answered 'I only do it when the machine is off!!' - typical Poppy!!! She finished her appointment by shouting 'Bye Stinky!' to Dr. Dan!!! Oh dear!!!!
On a more serious note, Dr. Dan is very happy with the plan he has in place for Poppy's radiotherapy & is confident her good eye will be fairly well protected. We feel confident knowing he is pleased with the treatment Poppy is getting. 7 down, 21 to go!!
We then had some time to kill, as Poppy had an eye appointment at 2.15pm back at BCH. So we took Poppy for a lovely walk around Cannon Hill Par & visited the Nature Centre. It was really nice, and we all enjoyed the time there together.
Poppy's eye appointment was also very good. Despite the fact that she was very tired, Poppy complete the Goldman Field Vision test again today, with excellent results. We are very, very proud of her.
I've attached a couple of photos of Poppy from her treat day last Friday, at the Butterfly Farm in Stratford. That was another lovely day!!
Thank you to everyone for all of your thoughts, prayers & messages, they really do mean a lot.
Love to all,
Lisa, Brian & Poppy
